Julia Jackson-Snyder

Julia Jackson-Snyder (1915) ranched her entire life. She was still bucking bales of hay in her eighties, with occasional help from her nephews. For years, she participated in the Chief Joseph ride, an endurance ride of 1400 miles that traces the route Chief Joseph took with his tribe, the Nez Perce, from Oregon to Montana, as they fled U.S. soldiers. Interviewed Lewistown, Montana, 1997
